I have so many good memories of Sue. The first one that comes to mind is when we were in high school and Sue and I were riding around with Margie Morrissey in her brown and green 'classic car' - over by Kings Food Host on 24th street. Margie seemed to think that Sue and I were too loud and obnoxious and maybe intoxicated - she pushed us out of her car and left us on the street.
A couple of years later, I was doing my student teaching in Omaha and Sue was in nursing school. We lived together in a small rental house. We had a few parties and lots of fun with the 'boys' from Ireland! One New Year's eve, Sharen Roland and I took the Greyhound bus to Omaha to party with Sue and friends (OMG - can you believe we took the bus?) and we had to sit in the back with the other loosers so Sharen could smoke!
Recent memories of Sue are when she and her sister Bert organized and ran the 'Top Soccer' Program in Kearney for many years for children with disabilites. My nephew Jackson, was on the team, and the energy those two sisters had with all the young kids was amazing. Sue was so excited to see all the kids - she had tons of energy. Even in the last year when Sue was sick, I would call her to see if she wanted to go for a drink or dinner - she still sounded like she was full of energy and enthusiasm. I now know how sick she really was. We all don't really know how much Sue did behind the scenes for other people. Love you Sue!!
